History:
Let's start at the beginning:
I grew up listening and being exposed to some pretty awesome music. Growing up with the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, the Eagles, and Rod Stewart (to name a few); in my own quest to uncover more classic rock I came across Blue Öyster Cult, a hard rock/metal band, telling my uncle of my discovery he happily exposed me to more classic metal groups: Rush, AC/DC, Pink Floyd, Van Halen, Def Leopard, Judas Priests, and Mötley Crüe. I wanted more I loved it so much...
When I was living and studying in Minnesota, I helped out at a college radio station KSTO with my friend Sean's Metal Show. When I moved back here to Washington, I wanted to continue with the radio gig and took Radio Laboratory 1 at GreenRiver College with Tom, KGRG's director. I had so much fun in the class learning about the history and how to work the board and 'rules' of being on the air...
This leads us to Alkaline Metal:
The crew here at KGRG-fm, once I told them of my Metal love and working a show at KSTO, they strongly suggested I have a Metal show here. I happily and excitedly accepted the challenge of having my own show and playing the music that I so truly love and adore....
Being a nerd along with being a metal head I wanted to pull my two identities together and BAM Alkaline Metal was born.
